Mindfulness-based interventions also yield a simultaneous increase in positive and decrease in negative SCS subscale scores (Birnie, Speca, & Carlson, 2010; Greeson, Juberg, Maytan, James, & Rogers, 2014; Raab, Sogge, Parker, & Flament, 2015; Whitesman & Mash, 2016).
Mindfulness-based interventions are another important way to increase self-compassion; this is not surprising, given that mindfulness is a core component of self-compassion.
